May 2004

Your Mission for April is a MISPRINT CLUE to CRICKET (7)
A MISPRINT clue contains a misprint of one letter in the definition part of the clue. The definition in your clue MAY consist of MORE than one word, but only one word of that definition is to be misprinted. As an example, here is the winning clue from the last time we had such a competition.

WHOOPEE CUSHION

Wild sounds made by this band in tiny pad

The misprint in the clue is "wild" - so that when the misprint is spotted, WHOOPEE CUSHION is seen to be defined as "wind sounds made by this" (the subsidiary indication is HOOP in WEE CUSHION, by the way). Hope that all makes sense, if you need any further clarification, please contact me directly.

Please send your clue and a brief explanation (one that will be accommodated easily within the NOTES to CLUES) to toots@tinyworld.co.uk and NOT to the group as a whole. Ultimately only one clue per entrant, but by all means change, polish, hone, amend, revamp, scrap and/or resubmit within the given time period, before declaring your final submission by MIDNIGHT GMT MONDAY 31st MAY.
