4069 Conversion by Samuel

This was a nicely themed puzzle from Samuel. The correct letters in misprints gave us SECONDS OUT and ROUND ONE, so the theme had to do with boxing. This also explained that the across entries had to be in a cyclical fashion and the down entries lost their second letters. The two professions which lacked a definition were two famous boxers, FOREMAN and COOPER. They famously lost to CASSIUS CLAY whose name could be discerned in the grid. By changing this name to his converted name, MUHAMMAD ALI the solver could highlight the quotation, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”, in the shape of a boxing ring.
