Another fine puzzle from Ploy was based on logic
circuits. When the grid was finished there were a number of cells where O and I
clashed. It could be deduced that these were logic signals where the
input/output was recorded as 1 or 0. The words LOGIC, CIRCUIT and 2 names BOOLE
and SHANNON could be detected reading downwards. This fixed certain cells. Also
downwards were 5 elements OR, NOT, AND, NAND and NOR. Allowing cells on the
left to be the input and cells on the right the output Gregson was able to set
the signals as follows.
1. OR input all 0 – output 0
2. NOT input 0 – output 1
3. AND output 1 – input all 1s
4. NAND output 0 – input all 1s
5. NOR output 1 – input all 0s
