3982: Politics by Fresco

This was a fairly straightforward puzzle if you knew the films of the Marx Brothers. Four unclued entries were linked to four clued entries to give the titles of films – ANIMAL CRACKERS, HORSE FEATHERS, MONKEY BUSINESS, DUCK SOUP. Extra letters in wordplay gave the quotation – “Je suis Marxiste, tendance Groucho”, a comment usually attributed to Jean-Luc Godard. Finally the phrase MARX BROTHERS could be highlighted rising diagonally from the SW corner of the grid.

Extra letters in wordplay are shown in square brackets.
