3963: A New Year Message from Ten-Four

The first puzzle of 2008 gave a message to solvers hoping to appear in the list of All-corrects. The extra letters in wordplay in seven across clues gave ONE DOWN and in the twelve down clues FIFTY-ONE TO GO. This message gave a hint to solving anomalies in the grid.In the remaining across entries the letters LI (51 to go) were omitted and in the down lights the letter I was moved one cell down (One down).Ten-Four gave us a pleasant start to the year with some quite easy clues.

Extra letters in wordplay are shown in square brackets.
